CANOE RENTALS, INC. POLICIES

For your safety, comfort and enjoyment
we permit 2 adults per canoe and one small child [50 lb. maximum].
NO 3RD ADULT ALLOWED.
Our Season: April 1 - October 31
We may allow trips earlier or later in the season. Contact us
for more information. We are open 8
a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, closed on Monday.
Trip Times: Trip times depend on which trip chosen, the
paddlers’ rate and water conditions. You must arrive
at launch site a minimum of 30 minutes ahead of launch time.
Be late, and you’ll be left behind, lose your reservation
and your deposit. Be late for exit time, you’ll lose your
deposit. Being on time is a courtesy to others, the same
courtesy you would prefer!
Reservations: Reservations are required for weekends
and must be made 2 weeks prior to launch date. Deposit, full
rental fee plus sales tax must be received 2 weeks prior to
launch date. If you are not exactly sure of the number of rentals
required, reserve what you are sure of and let us know as soon
as possible of any additions. We’ll do our best to accommodate
you.
Trip/rental Fees: See Rental Fees. These vary due to
trip chosen and how many rentals. There are discounts for larger
groups [5 plus].
Deposit: There is a late/damage deposit for each canoe/kayak
rented. We will refund your deposit after all equipment is returned
undamaged on time.
Cancellations: Cancellations will be accepted 7 days
prior to your scheduled trip without penalty. A credit certificate
will be issued for the same amount for future trip. If it’s
storming in our area prior to your trip, you will receive a
full refund of deposit. There are no refunds once you are on
the water. Sorry, there are no other refunds.
Lost or Damaged Equipment: Renters are financially responsible
for the safe return of all rented equipment.
Waiver: An Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Release Agreement
must be read and signed by each individual prior to the trip.
Also an authorized person must sign the Assumption of Risk,
Waiver and Release Agreement for each minor or incompetent person.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
Alcohol: Alcohol and other substances may impair judgment
and reduce a participant’s ability to effectively manage
the risks associated with Miller’s Canoe Rentals, Inc.’s
rental activities. We intend to limit the use of alcohol. No
hard liquor is allowed. We will also refuse our services to
anyone who in management’s opinion is intoxicated or under
the influence of another substance.
SAFETY
Life jackets [U.S. Coast Guard approved
Personal Flotation Device-PFD] are provided for each participant.
As of July 31, 2004, anyone 13 years and under are
required to wear the provided PFD. We strongly
urge all others to wear their provided PFD. Do not
use the PFD to anchor, tie or to be used for any other reason.
Participants should wear appropriate clothing and water shoes
or sneakers. Failure to adhere to these and other
safety precautions may result in injury or death.
On any trips where dams of any type are encountered, participants
must portage around said dams
if there is no pass through.
No diving allowed. Swimming or wading is
done at participant’s own risk.
Wear water shoes or sneakers for wading.
